Receives “Prime” Status in ISS ESG Corporate Rating for the First Time

TOKYO-Nikon Corporation (Nikon) is pleased to announce that it has received a "Prime" in The ESG Corporate Rating (As of December 4, 2023) by ISS ESG, one of the leading ESG evaluation institutions, for the first time. ISS ESG is the responsible investment arm of the world's proxy advisory firm, Institutional Shareholder Services Inc. (ISS) based in the US and conducts sustainability rating assessments. ISS ESG evaluates companies with environmental, social, and governance criteria and companies that received high evaluation in their industry are rated as "Prime."

In this Rating, Nikon has been evaluated for its initiatives, such as environment and human rights.

Nikon also has been selected for all ESG indices* adopted by the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) targeting domestic stocks.
